One our most highly recommended courses, this presentation provides guidelines for treatment of bulging varicose tributaries based on the author’s nearly 30 year experience. He provides not only his perspective and experience with techniques he has developed but also notes where others may choose to deviate. Areas covered include the initial evaluation of the patient, sclerosants, their methods of action and how to prepare them, necessary equipment, anesthesia, techniques for extraction of veins, post procedure dressings and potential complications.   • Learn the contraindications for in-office ambulatory phlebectomy Introduce the proper patient preparation requirements for either procedure
  • Describe the techniques necessary to perform phlebectomy
  • Identify the potential complications from microphlebectomy and sclerotherapy and their incidence
  • Discuss optimal dressings and bandaging following the procedure

This program is intended for physicians, vascular sonographers, nurses, and other allied health professionals.  There was no commercial support for this educational product and the author and planning committee have nothing to disclose pertinent to this presentation.
