Course Description: This presentation provides an overview of the ambulatory phlebectomy in the treatment of chronic venous disease. The author has extensive experience in this procedure and provides not only his experience and techniques but also notes where others may choose to deviate from the techniques that he has developed over the past 25 years. Areas covered include the initial evaluation of the patient, contra-indications, necessary equipment, anesthesia, techniques for extraction of the veins, post procedure dressings and potential complications. With generous photographs demonstrating all these techniques, this is a unique and highly recommended course on this subject.
